What I love most about my work as a teacher: I love how fulfilling it is, knowing that I’m using my time and energy for something truly positive. I love sharing my knowledge, my experiences, the lessons I’ve learned with my students. I love the idea that I can inspire my students to pursue their passions, lead exciting and adventurous lives, help others and find fulfillment.
My personal beliefs about teaching: The material we teach in class is secondary. We are teaching how to learn, how to enjoy learning, and how to seek out information. We are teaching how to find your passions, how to pursue your passions, and how to devote your time and energy towards these pursuits. We don’t just want good students, we want good people. We want our students to become caring and empathetic, appreciative and respectful, and happy and successful.
